Makeup at the gym

Sometimes, I want to slip on my gym clothes and fit in a short gym session after a long hard day of work...

I usually have about an hour before the gym closes. Although I try to wipe off some of my eye makeup, I'm not going to wash my entire face just to walk into the weight room. I'm just not. And I don't think I should have to be judged for that, although I'm sure I am. (Women can be so mean to one another)

Good thing I don't give a fuck, right?

Luckily I don't have to wear foundation, so I don't have to worry about my pores getting clogged when they open up from sweating. But I know a lot of girls that do. Sometimes no matter what you've tried, you can't get your skin to clear up. So you put on cover up or concealer regardless of where you're going because you don't want your skin to be on display like that... And who the fuck are we to judge?
Really what it all comes down to, is that person's comfort level. Maybe the girl walking past you sparkling from head to toe in bronzer is trying to get laid tonight, or just maybe she's just fucking insecure and doesn't feel comfortable going places without it. Maybe she doesn't like looking at herself in the mirror with out it on, or maybe she'd rather get that extra 10 minutes in the gym than have to worry about washing it off. Regardless of her reasons, it's none of our business. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. It's very important to remember why you're at the gym. For YOU. This all goes hand in hand with my general life motto: Live and let live.

I know for me when I'm at the gym, I'm in my zone. I'm concentrating on my current and then next move. I'm trying to remember what my max weight was last week and wondering if I can top that this week. I'm making sure my playlist matches up with my workout. I'm ignoring phone calls and texts. And I'm drinking water like a motherfucker to stay hydrated... But none of those things involve anyone else BUT me.

If Nancy Lou Who wants to strut her shit, that's good for her. One can only hope that she's also there to do work, because that's what the gym is made for. And if you feel like there are too many people around you that are not there for that reason (because that's not a comfortable environment), feel free to get away from the distractions and bring your badass little self to another gym to get buff.

It's simply not worth it in life to sweat the small shit. And worrying about what someone else at the gym is doing or wearing, is miniscule compared to how bangin' you're gonna feel at the end of the workout you just put 100% into.

Lift Heavy xo
